Revamping, Revamping, Revamping

January 8, 2008

Alright, so you probably noticed there’s not much pink on this site. I still have to but the CSS editing feature for wordpress to shape this blog like I want, but it will happen. Adam and I have been working on it and brainstorming ways to make it better. If you look to your right, yes that’s it!, you’ll see technorati, stumbleupon, etc links, and at the bottom of each post from now on, there will be a wide selection of links. Revamping the blog, you see. Also, I am considering adding some weekly features, so as soon as I figure that out, you can expect to see some continuing content!

I’m still job hunting, and still frustrated. There’s nothing I hate more than job hunting. I hate it. I love working, I hate trying to find work. Boo! I’m applying at more places tomorrow, if Adam gets back from Calgary early enough and is willing to take me around.

Other than that, nothing exciting is happening. At least not right now, just school and such. Though! Though though though!!! My dear friend Sarah is coming up in a week to see Hey Ocean (see inset, courtesey of Sarah herself) at the Slice (restaurant in Lethbridge, no website, sorry folks), and I will be joining her. I am super freaking excited for that, let me tell you!!! Sarah is awesome, and live music is too! I’ve never heard Hey Ocean before, but I hear you can dance to them, and I do enjoy dancing, especially with Sarah.

Still bored!

January 8, 2008

Okay not so much bored as really busy.

Adam and I started to revamp, but we’re nowhere near finished. I’ve been caught up in classes, volunteering, and this huge stack of reading I have to do. And I’m still looking for a job. The side of the city I am on does not offer many options aside from McDonald’s. And I am just not doing that. I’d rather starve to death.

At least I’m working towards #65 on the list, which is producing Vagina Monologues. The campus is putting it on, and it’s going very well. At least by March 8th I’ll be able to cross another thing off. I suppose I should mention I am no longer involved in the production I discussed earlier on this blog. Due to disorganization and general frustrations with the person heading it up, I felt it best to end my involvement. So from now on when I discuss the Vag Logs, I am referring to the campus production.

Oh and I have yet to get a fish :(

The Boring Life I Yearn to Avoid

January 5, 2008
These past few days have been nothing short of mind-numbingly boring. It is the only term to put to how I have felt. Thursday I went to my classes. My Medieval Violence looks to be good, but I ended up dropped the British History due to the fact I already took it at the University of Calgary. I have taken up a Anthropology of Gender course, which Adam kindly agreed to take with me. The only problem is that I lack the pre-requesites for the class and am still awaiting a reply to the email I sent her over a day ago. I have yet to take my History of Women course, which I know I will love, and my history of Napoleonic France.

Other than that, I have had nothing to do at all. I walked to Safeway yesterday and bought some more yams (see inset – yes I took a picture of the yams I just bought…). I cooked with yams for the first time on Thursdayyams. Made a yam casserole of sorts (brown sugar, milk, honey, mashed with boiled yams and baked with pecans on top), and it was really good. I actually went to Safeway for margarine and cheese, but decided yams were worth buying more of.

Adam came over yesterday as well, for a little. We watched Home and Garden Television. We were planning on going to a movie, but couldn’t find anything worth going to see, sadly. We debated for a while, but soon the smooth house-hunting skills of Kristie and Phil on Relocation, Relocation took over, and we were laying around watching that. Such is life. He went home, and I went to bed, but woke up around 1am feeling naseous, dizzy, faint-y, and, oh lucky me, was hallucinating. So I gave Adam a ring and he came over and spent the night with me to make sure I didn’t die or anything drastic. I kept hallucinating about Dani Gore, and only thing morning did I find out who she was with the help of google. What a weird thing to hallucinate about. Jeepers.

Oh, I did start working on my passport application yesterday, which is the beginnings of #60 on The List and part of my 2008 Resolutions. I will hopefully be able to throw that in the mail by the end of this week so I can get on to travelling!

Cheesecake making – 218 crossed off

December 23, 2007

So I made a cheesecake in the course of my Christmas baking. It was disappointing though, I wasn’t a fan of the recipe, I don’t think I would have chosen it to begin with, but the guest rules, right?

It was fun and I think I will do it again, but certainly not with the “Rocky Road” recipe.

One more thing crossed off!
